SHOW AND TELL: Robert Waight, Visual Artist
My name is Robert Waight, I am a Chester Artist. I have lived most of my life in this area. I paint in oils and draw with pencils. I also do a few small sculptors in cedar.
Oil is my favourite medium to use because it can be re-worked and I like the translucent effects that can be achieved. Please click on the box on left to see example of my work.
Drawings are good fun to do. I mostly use graphite in the range 2H– 3B.
I have done a small number of wood sculptures. I use cedar wood, it is easy to use and has a great aroma.
Works in progress. Watch them develop ..... I like this approach, I do the work and you get to see how it is developing. Not many artists offer that option!
I have shown paintings in a number of exhibitions including the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art (NEWA) held at Gordale Garden Centre on the Wirral (although in that I displayed under the name Mike Freshwater). I have also been one of the profiled artists in the magazine Artists and Illustrators.
